Tuesday 25th August - the morning flight as reported on Radio Norfolk!

The morning began with passengers arriving at our launch site in Norwich, accompanied by family and friends.

With briefings completed and G-CENX ready for flight, passengers were soon aboard to begin their adventure with us.

The retrieval crew was led by Jules, our Operations Manager, and with everything packed away into the retrieval rig, she got a telephone call from her father asking, "Are you flying?"

Being a little cheeky she replied, "What gave it away, the big balloon in the sky?" With her Dad laughing he replied, "No, you are being mentioned on Radio Norfolk and they want to talk to you."

A quick call to the studio resulted in Jules being interviewed on the breakfast show, whilst in hot pursuit of the balloon (on a hands free mobile, of course!)

Drifting in a north easterly direction, G-CENX continued her journey directly over the city and then onto the villages of Sprowston, Spixworth, Rackheath before reaching the beautiful Norfolk Broads at Wroxham.

Just over an hour after take off and it was time to land, and this happened in a set-a-side field in the Norfolk village of Hoveton.

With the balloon packed away and passengers enjoying a champagne toast, Sean, who piloted, presented everyone with their commemorative certificates. It was during this Mrs Hawkins said, "I was really scared as I have never flown, but I really enjoyed it and it was really calm and peaceful."

When asked what they thought of their experience with us, Mr and Mrs Self summed it up with one word - "Fantastic!"
