Early evening flight from Norwich on Saturday 19th September 2009

Passengers and spectators eagerly gathered on the launch site in Norwich for their hot air balloon flight on this glorious summer evening, having been checked in by a member of crew. Passengers listened carefully to their pilot as he delivered the safety briefings and explained the landing phase. With conditions perfect for the flight the crew got on with the job of preparing the balloon with some much welcomed help from passengers and spectators.

Filling with cold air G-CENX took on her gigantic size before the air was heated and she stood proudly above her basket. Passengers were soon aboard as final checks were carried out and with a blast from the burners G-CENX was soon airborne and drifting in a south westerly direction.

Travelling over the Norfolk countryside passengers enjoyed views of the village of Hethersett and the famous Ketts Oak before heading over the historic town of Wymondham. Travelling further south the balloon touched down on a stubble field near Suton watched by the retrieval crew and those spectators that had followed by way of the road. Once the balloon had been packed away passengers enjoyed their champagne or fruit juice by light of the landrover, making the experience all the more magical.
