Wednesday 21st April, the evening hot air balloon flight over Norfolk

On the evening of Wednesday 21st April 2010, the weather was forecast to be suitable for hot air ballooning, so the passengers arrived at Bluebell Road in Norwich at 17:15, eager to begin their aerial adventure.

Once the passengers and spectators had received their safety breifings and the balloon was prepared for the flight, hot air balloon G-CDHL gracefully rose into the air, beginning once again a journey of a lifetime.

Floating in a southerly direction, over the edge of the city of Norwich, the beautiful Norfolk evening landscape stretched out as far as the eye could see. Departing from the skies over Norwich, the newly fledged hot air balloonists were next awarded with fantastic aerial views of the more rural areas surrounding the city.

They came back down to earth at Hempnall, near Tasburgh and Long Stratton, where the hot air balloon was packed away and the flight toasted in the traditional manner with a glass of chilled Champagne, as the pilot handed out the flight certificates as a lasting memento of their incredible experience.

“Unexpected, wonderful evening, brilliant landing”

“Well worth waiting for”
