Bluebell Road in Norwich - the evening flight of Saturday 23rd August 2008

Passengers and spectators gathered at the launch site on Bluebell Road in Norwich.

Hot air ballooning is unlike any other form of flight, since the balloon becomes one with the breeze there is no sensation of movement and when G-CENX gently lifted off at 18:20 many of the passengers did not even realise they were airborne until they were already several feet in the air.

Floating high above the City of Norwich the hot air balloon headed initially towards Thorpe End before descending and due to a sea breeze, changing direction completely.

With the change of winds, passengers enjoyed the aerial view of Sprowston Manor and the golf course and then flew directly towards Norwich International Airport.

With permission to land given by the air traffic controllers G-CENX landed on the grass just north of the runway.

Passenger Kim Jarrett rang the office after her flight to thank everyone involved with Saturday evening's flight.  "I had a thoroughly enjoyable time and I thought the pilot was wonderful!  It was brilliant and I want to do it again."
