Saturday 13th September, sunset flight from Bluebell Road in Norwich

Several individual family groups joined together to form one large party of passengers, all full of anticipation of the adventure that awaited them.

G-CDHL was the first of our two large balloons to launch from Bluebell Road in Norwich closely followed by G-CENX.

As both balloons climbed passengers enjoyed panoramic views of Norwich and the surrounding area.  Flying in a south westerly direction over Wymondham providing views of Wymondham Abbey which is one of the finest and most interesting of the historic churches of East Anglia.

Both balloons landed in stubble fields, G-CENX at Besthorpe and G-CDHL a little further on at Old Buckenham.

We spoke to Mr and Mrs Wenham, who flew with other family members, a couple of days after their flight and they were still floating in the air!

The flight vouchers had been a present for Mr Wenham's birthday and, due to previous bookings being cancelled due to unsuitable weather, he had managed to celebrate another birthday, however he said he spoke for all his family when he thanked everyone involved, "It surpassed all our expectations, especially my wife who is frightened of heights.  I didn't even realise we have taken off and for the next hour and a half we were transported into a different world.  Being able to get involved and help prepare the balloon really makes you feel part of the whole experience.  It was just amazing - thank you!"
