Early evening flight on Sunday 21st September 2008

Passengers arrived early for their evening hot air balloon flight at Bluebell Road in Norwich.

Although the sky had clouded over spirits were high and the passengers were full of enthusiasm and keen to help the crew pull out the balloon ready for inflation. Standing patiently they watched as G-CENX filled with air,  surprised at her enormous size.

Once on board passengers enjoyed panoramic views of the city of Norwich before heading south. The pilot took the opportunity to share his local knowledge of history, and descending the skies he flew the balloon low over an old oak tree, known as Ketts Oak where the rebel leader Robert Kett is believed to have gathered his men.

Drifting slowly back up, the sun had come out and the clouds dispersed as passengers flew over the town of Wymondham and enjoyed a spectacular aerial view of Wymondham Abbey, before finally coming to rest in a stubble field at Morley St Botolph.

Toasting the flight with a glass of chilled champagne passengers agreed it had been a most memorable experience.
