Sunrise flight of Saturday 2nd May 2009

Passengers were checked in by a member of crew and when everyone had arrived the first of the safety briefings began. Passengers and spectators listened carefully to the instructions before passengers were taken to the baskets for their basket briefing. After all the formalities were over the fun began and, passengers helped the crew to pull out the balloon on the ground surprised by how large it was.

Once the pilot was happy with the weather, G-CENX was prepared for flight. As the balloon lifted into the upright position passengers were called to board many with beaming faces, they were soon on their way, waving good-bye to family and friends who were keen to get back into their cars to start their own adventure by following with the retrieval crew on the ground.

Leaving the City of Norwich behind G-CENX headed in a south easterly direction allowing the countryside to open up before her delivering breathtaking views and great photo opportunities. Passing the popular Dunston Hall and its golf course G-CENX then made her way over the Norfolk villages of Poringland and Yelveton before landing in the village of Ashby St Mary.

Once G-CENX was packed away Jean Wilson reflected on her flight “It was just amazing” she said “having been a bit scared about flying it’s an experience I’m glad I have done and would have no hesitation in doing it again. It’s so quiet and calm up there. If anyone is thinking about doing it my advise would be don’t think about it just do it.”
